When it comes to sessions, I am full of location suggestions, my tried and true. In all honesty, reusing the same handful of spots feels safe in that I can clearly predict where the session may take us from the natural flow around the property to the traffic level of people to expect. Lately I've been pushing myself out of this comfort zone and have seriously been feeling the urge to EXPLORE. I've found that my truest creativity comes when stepping into the unfamiliar. With that being said, I was SO excited when Adrianna and Torin suggested a location totally new to me, but one that is their own "special spot".
Adrianna and Torin lead me to their boardwalk-like hiking trails that they frequent with their puppers, how SPECIAL!? Their location had the best of both worlds, a gorgeous and open field, hidden hiking trails, and a small beach area by the water. There is nothing better than sessions where my clients feel comfortable and at home, and I feel that when there's a personal connection to the shoot location, posing and prompts flow SO smoothly.
Seeing these two together in action together was the sweetest. Both Adrianna and Torin serve the military, which is how they met. From there, I learned about the unexpected proposal in Smithville, NJ (the cutest little town EVER, filled with candy stores, restaurants, and the cutest shops you'll ever see) and their day to day life with their dogs. Enjoy some pretty shots of their recent engagement session below!
